Tolman has received praises for her performance in the role of Minnesota Police Officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair declared that Tolman has "calmly sure of taking over the whole show". Tolman also had a role on The Mindy Show as Abby Berman a romance writer. In 2015, her second role was in Michael Dougherty's film, horror-film Krampus. Tolman did not want to play a number of support parts, including roles that were played by wives, mothers and besties, after her debut in Fargo. Tolman wanted a different role. In 2017, Tolman starred in ABC's Downward Dog, based on the Animal Media Group web series which was cancelled following one season. Tolman was a star in the drama show Emergence which premiered on September 24, 2019. The show was canceled on May 21st, 2020 following just one episode despite "pretty solid" numbers, as per Tolman. The actress has also been an actor on the NBC show Good Girls. In 2021, she was Alma Filcott in season two of Why Women Kill. Natalie Green was a part of Live on Front of a Studio Audience 3.
